Pennsylvania Facts and Fun

June 26, 2016 by Michael Bunker 2 Comments

I had to put together a fact sheet and blurbs for my agent to present to a foreign rights agent for Pennsylvania, so I thought I’d share it with you all, since you have been central in the success of my books! With over 100,000 copies of Pennsylvania stories (novel, short stories, series parts, and fanfic anthology) sold, it is fun to look at what all has happened.

Pennsylvania, by Michael Bunker

bestseller782014.4On November 5, 2015 the film rights for Pennsylvania, by Michael Bunker were optioned to Jorgensen Pictures, a Hollywood Film Production Company.

In May of 2014 Michael Bunker’s Pennsylvania Omnibus was voted #20 in IndieAuthorLand’s “The 50 Best Indie Books of 2013/2014,” and on July 7th  2014 the book hit the top 25 (#19) on Amazon.com’s overall Bestseller List.

Various_TALES_FROM_PENNSYLVANIA_EbookEditionPennsylvania has spawned dozens of fan fiction novels and short stories, as well as a major short story anthology, Tales from Pennsylvania made up of Pennsylvania short stories submitted by 10 bestselling authors. Pennsylvania fans have started their own Pennsylvania Facebook Fan Page (The AZ) and have built an online “Wiki” with information and trivia about the Pennsylvania world.

“Pennsylvania heads to film! Jorgensen Pictures is developing Michael Bunker’s science-fiction novel ‘Pennsylvania’ as a feature film. The story centers on a young Amish man who signs up for an emigration program to help colonize the planet of New Pennsylvania. Stacy Jorgensen is Producing.” ~ Dave McNary, VARIETY

“Michael Bunker has developed his own fascinating style that blends old into new to create something unique in the sci-fi world. Amazing work, a writer everyone should be reading.” ~ Matthew Mather, bestselling author of CyberStorm

When asked by the Amazon Kindle Blog who was the most under-rated author in Sci-Fi today, New York Times Bestselling Author Hugh Howey replied, “Michael Bunker.” Hugh called Pennsylvania “brilliant” and was instrumental in bringing the story to a wide audience.

“Pennsylvania is a brilliant tale of extra-planetary colonization. With parallels to the European settlement of the America’s, Michael Bunker draws on his Amish roots and lifestyle to portray that tenuous balance between mankind and its machines. He also knows better than most the difficulty of surviving on civilization’s frontier.” ~ HUGH HOWEY, New York Times Bestselling Author of Wool, Sand, and Peace in Amber.

“Pennsylvania is staggering, a mind-bending adventure that will challenge your expectations of modern sci-fi.” ~ JASON GURLEY, author of Greatfall and Eleanor.
