…a mysterious jazz, swing, and big band flavored novel of the middle century...

Nowhere, New Mexico is a mid-century modern literary novel from USA Today Bestselling author Michael Bunker. If you like historic novels like 1929 by Frederick Turner, Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead, and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, or if you just love Michael Bunker’s previous genre-busting literary, time-travel, and sci-fi books, you’ll love Nowhere, New Mexico, a mysterious jazz, swing, and big band flavored novel of the middle century.

“Master of meta and modern renaissance man Michael Bunker at his best! Travel back to 1954 in this literary novel that mixes the best parts of travel literature with a mind-bending mystery.” ~ M.G. Herron, bestselling author of The Translocator Trilogy and The Gunn Files.

Where is Nowhere, and does it even exist?

The town of Nowhere popped up out of the high desert in post-war New Mexico and marred the face of imperfection forever.

It’s 1954 and WWII D-Day veteran and journalist for LIFE Magazine Ken Halberson is sent to investigate rumors of an idyllic, utopian town said to be hidden in the post-war New Mexican desert. 67 years later, Halberson’s notes and manuscripts about the town are found sealed in a suitcase in a Mid-Century Modern Vintage store in Coleman, Texas and now a curious author seeks to find out what happened during Ken Halberson’s six missing years.

Does the town of Nowhere really exist?

If it does, how did it get there? And why is it such a well-kept secret?

Rumor has it that an old prospector named Lew Bonaventure found gold in the New Mexico mountains and when the word leaked out, a gold rush town sprung up in the middle of the desert – a land surrounded by top-secret bases, airfields, and government facilities. There are plenty of secrets hiding in the desert sands of a legendary town that may just be more real than you’d think. Old jazz and swing superstars, A G-man sent by Hoover to investigate, and a beautiful dame who may take Ken’s heart for a ride.

Is there such thing as a Utopia? And what would you do if you found it?

As of this morning we are 280% funded at $5,606. That’s good, but we’re just getting started…

We’ve hit our first two stretch goals on Kickstarter, but we have more work to do. Please consider going to the Kickstarter Campaign now and picking out your reward! The cool fact is that with the stretch goals, EVERY BACKER is now getting the prequel novella as an e-book, and if we hit $7,500 (our next stretch goal) EVERY BACKER will get the audiobook when it is produced! That means your reward is already growing, and will continue to grow the more people we can get involved.
