Last Day of April

4/30/07 - 2nd Day - Midday. We had about an inch of rain last night and this morning. I had to bail out the front catchwaters at a little past 5:30 this a.m. Our large catchwater is sitting back at about 2200 gallons (out of a capacity of 2500) which is virtually full. We really needed the rain. The gardens got a good soaking, as did all the fields. This morning, things are pleasant and the birds are making jungle noises.

Speaking of birds, Danielle put out a hummingbird feeder a week or so ago, and all of a sudden we have hummingbirds around it all the time. That seems like it is the way it should be, but I still don't get it. Where have they been all this time? If I put out a bear feeder, or a wombat feeder, would we suddenly have wombats and bears? I can only conclude that putting out sugary water in a readily available feeder PRODUCES hummingbirds from thin air. Ok, maybe not. Now I just have to figure out what cigars eat and I'll be sittin' pretty. More on birds... I looked out my window while I was working today and saw a woodpecker pecking on my firewood pile. Interesting. Part of me is very hopeful that he eats all the termites out of the woodpile - and part of me hopes he isn't going to reduce my whole woodpile to sawdust. If you listen to the 2nd part of the Idolatry sermon series, you will hear this same woodpecker squawking in the background during part of it. By the way, part 1 of this series is now up and ready. Hope to have part 2 up soon, so you can hear the woodpecker chirp.

Well, 3 more days until we take 2 of our hogs to the "processor" (when did these guys stop being 'butchers'?), which is good - and we could use the meat. We're splitting the 2 hogs between 4 families here in the community.

Oh, forgot to say that the men here in the community visited a Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Coleman, Tx on Sunday morning. We had seen the building in Coleman for well over a year, and were curious. For a long time there was the phone number of the preacher, and we intended to call, but never did. Then, this past week, one of the guys saw a man mowing the lawn and stopped to check things out. They told us they were still meeting there at 11 a.m. on Sunday, but they currently did not have a preacher. Anyway, we decided to drive over there after our own singing fellowship on the Lord's Day morning, and see what it was all about. The folks were nice, the singing was good... they had a guest preacher, and he was a cardboard cutout of every modernist preacher in America today. He actually apologized for being "overdressed" for the occasion. He was very slick, he raised and lowered his voice dynamically, had very practiced hand gestures and intonation, began with a slight joke, added plenty of personal anecdotes, etc., and he let us know that he preached a lot in Germany, where it is easier, because there aren't as many distractions over there. He also preached for an hour and a half on 2 verses. Not that he drew any meat out of them, but he actually "performed" for 90 minutes with only two verses. Here are the two verses:

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:34-35)

We learned that unity is good, and that if Christians will be in unity, then God will "bless us with souls". We learned that when "sinners" come through the doors of the church, they can automatically tell if the church is in unity. You see, "sinners" are not stupid like some people think they are. "Sinners" are very, very intelligent. The drug dealers in a park in Germany allowed this preacher and his friends to preach to them, because they didn't treat "sinners" like they were stupid. Other preachers were kicked out of the park because they were not "for real". This preacher quoted Spurgeon, and said that schism and division always comes from pride. I wondered what he would have thought about Spurgeon and the "Downgrade Controversy". I wondered what he thought about the Reformation. He said that unity should never be "at the expense of truth", but he did say that we ought to be willing to drop our "convictions" in order to have unity. I wondered how that is possible. He said that most people want to put God in a "theological box" (the old "God in a Box" ploy), and I wondered if that could possibly be true. I believe that theology describes what God has said about Himself, and attempts to define the box that God has US in. Generally when someone says that "you can't put God in a box", they don't like something God has said about Himself, and don't want dogmatism in any form to damage the picture they have of a box-less "god". Believe it or not, God is quite often pretty dogmatic about Himself.

Anyway, he was a guest preacher, and he is probably a perfectly nice fellow - but I am not sure I could listen to him preach again. We might visit again soon, just to get to know the nice folks that are regulars there at the church. Maybe they will have a different guest preacher. I hope it is not a 90 minute sermon on "Jesus wept".

Fishin' and Gardenin'

4/27/07 - 6th Day - After Breakfast and fishing. No bites today, but it was a good time with good weather. I took Robert who is only too glad to get up at 6 a.m. when it means we are going fishing. The children and I just got out of the garden, weeding, thinning, watering, etc. The prognosticators are calling for a very small probability of some rain tonight, and we could sure use it.

I hope to start building on my new farrowing shed for my sow who should be dropping piggies in a month or so, Lord willing. Should be an interesting construction project, since I will be using predominantly used materials salvaged from the neighbors house we tore down last month.

So-So Bass

4/26/07 - 5th Day
- After Breakfast. Ok, here is my first keeper of the year, caught this morning. This has started off as a shockingly poor fishing year. I've only caught 5 fish all year, and this is the first one that was "legal". Hopefully things will get better.

The weather has been gorgeous - and the prognosticators are calling for it to stay that way today. Maybe some rain/storms tomorrow night, but we'll see. I hope to start work on the farrowing pen for my pregnant sow today or tomorrow. It will depend on if I get anything done with part II of the Idolatry and Feminization sermon for this weekend. I still haven't been able to get Part I uploaded yet, but I will try again this morning. Our internet connection is iffy, and sometimes it'll work and sometimes not.

I found a copy of A Robert Penn Warren Reader at Goodwill, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Robert Penn Warren was one of the Southern Agrarian writers, and was an exceptional poet and thinker. He was also a great gentleman, which is more than I can say for the cowardly vermin calling themselves southern poets today.

Got to get to work.

God Bless,

Michael Bunker

Pics from the Ranch

4/23/07 - 4th Day - After Breakfast. Here are some highly requested pics from the Ranch here in Spring '07. Most of you will remember Maria, our first cow here on the Ranch. She is 1/2 Longhorn and 1/2 Watusi. Her horns are growing ever larger, and she should be about 6-7 months pregnant with another mixed-breed calf for us. I am thinking about putting Maria up for sale after this next calf comes - but we'll see.

This next pic is of Holga, our 3 year old Pure Longhorn. She should also be about 6-7 months pregnant. Her horns are getting longer too, and she will likely be milked again this summer after calving.

This picture is of our newest additions. The mama cow is Luciana, and her calf is Bonita. It looks like Bonita is going to be a very large animal, with good, long horns.

You probably remember Pita, the first calf we have had born on our property. Pita is 3/4 Longhorn and 1/4 Watusi, and is now 9 months old, and is very gentle and friendly and has been being trained to pull and lead now for about 5 months. Look how big her horns are getting...

Here is little Pedro. He was born premature, and is small in stature, but he is smart, friendly and strong. He might grow up to be a full sized steer, but who knows?

Here are a few pics of the garden this spring. The green beans are just starting to pop up.

Here is a more distant pic of the whole garden. I think you can click on the actual pictures for a better look.

We just finished fencing off an acre of semi-wooded land for pig pasture.

Here is the solar electric charger for the electric fence around the pig pasture. Some of you may have been wondering how you charge an electric fence for an off-grid homestead. This charger was quite inexpensive, and is good for up to 3 miles of fence. We bought it at Tractor Supply.

This isn't a very good picture, but it is of a peach on one of the peach trees we planted last year.

Well, gotta go to work. Y'all be cool.

Fellowship and Fish

4/18/07 - 4th Day - Before Supper. Almost finished with the garden, about 2 weeks late. With the late freezes and all, it has been a challenge, but it looks like we're mostly done with the planting phase. We're also clearing some brush to lay out about an acre or so for pig pasture. Hope to start putting in the electric fence (solar charged) tomorrow or the next day.

Walked over to the Ante's today and saw that Logan has almost finished drying in their house and putting in the windows and doors. I'll be there will be some pics up at their blog very soon.

There's a lot of activity going on here in the community, and it is kind of neat to see. David finished his cross-fences, and the other folks are still working on their places as well. Looks like we might be getting to have a Lord's Day fellowship over at the Ante's pretty soon. Our plan is to begin rotating the location of the Lord's Day fellowship the way the Amish do. Here is the way the many of the Amish do it...

If the Lord's Day meeting is at your house, the men will show up sometime on the 6th day in order to "spruce up" the house where the meeting is held. The homeowner will have a list of things that need to be done. It could be fixing screens, touch up painting, fixing anything that needs fixing, etc. The women will often prepare meals that don't need cooking and have them ready for the meeting. In our community the women usually prepare the meals on the morning of the Lord's Day and have them ready by noon when we usually eat. In many Amish communities, they have some community benches that are set up for the meeting and meals. On the morning of the meeting, the men will show up with the benches and will move the furniture out and set up the benches for the sermon. After the sermon and meal, the benches will be removed and stacked in a wagon for the next Lord's day - and then the furniture is replaced by all the men.

This is our eventual goal, if the Lord wills - and it will fun to see it progress as more people get their homesteads ready.

In our fellowship, we have changed up our Lord's Day schedule starting this past week. We moved the singing up to 9 a.m., and will be having the sermon shortly after that. Then we have our community meal sometime around noon.

Looks like I'll be losing my two ministry students and work hands a couple of weeks from now. My 100% washout rate remains intact, unhappily. There'll be more work around here for me and the children, but we've done it all before, and don't expect to be too hampered by it. Right now, the children are out weeding the garden.

Fishing hasn't gone well this year. If the Lord wills, we'll try again tomorrow morning. Y'all pray the Lord brings us fish.

Michael Bunker

Virginia Legislature Should Be Charged With Murder

4/17/07 - 3rd Day - Before Lunch. Virginia Legislature Should Be Charged With Murder

I see where more and more idiots (as is expected) are using this Virginia Tech shooting as a platform to call for more gun restrictions. This despite the fact that the shooting happened in an area where guns are banned (on campus). Although it is legal in Virginia to carry a concealed handgun, the policy of Virginia Tech made it against the rules for VT students to protect themselves. The result? 32 unarmed dead people. The fact that this is being called the biggest mass killing in US history, is both WRONG and very telling.

Prior to this incident, the largest SCHOOL shooting in history happened at the University of Texas in 1966. In that case, Charles Whitman, a very highly trained Marine sniper, killed 15 people from the 27 story tower on the campus, before he was killed by authorities. But let us look at the specifics...

A COMPARISON BETWEEN TEXAS 1966 and VIRGINIA 2007

Whitman was a highly trained shooter, carried more weaponry and ammo, fired from a superior position on an elevated platform where he had 360 degree access to the full bustling campus full of pedestrians, a highly trafficked commercial area, and the ability to hit hard targets who thought they were hidden. Cho (the VT shooter) was lightly trained, if at all, had a few handguns and limited ammo, had to operate in an environment where students were able to barricade themselves from him, and where, quite often, bullets did not penetrate the barricades. Whitman had a sawed off shotgun, a Remington 700 rifle with a scope, another .35 caliber Remington rifle, an M1 carbine, a 357 magnum, a Galesi-Brescia pistol, and a Luger pistol. Cho apparently had a couple of 9mm pistols.

So why the disparity in the death toll? Whitman was a highly trained marine with remarkable sniping skills, more firepower, a better shooting platform, and in a time and place of looser gun laws. Whitman was able to hit many of his targets from upwards of 500 yards, and incredibly made two "impossible" hits at over 1000 yards. Why didn't he kill more than Cho?

BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE FIRING BACK!

Whitman had a minute or so of free fire before he started receiving return fire from pedestrians, shop owners, police and students. When Whitman was killed, he was pinned down, forced to shoot through a rain spout and unable to move for a better place to fire. In Texas in 1966, people owned, carried, and knew how to shoot guns - and they were not afraid to use them to stop an evil-doer. In Virginia in 2007, Cho had a target rich environment of unarmed pacifists, who dutifully were lined up and executed without fighting back.

Apparently, last year a bill was brought up in the Virginia assembly which would have allowed licensed concealed carry on campus, but it was defeated.

The Virginia Legislature should be charged with 32 counts of murder.

Oh, and this wasn't the largest mass murder in US history. There have been many more deadly encounters... specifically the government sanctioned murder of over 80 people in their church in Waco, Texas.

Here is another thing to think about.

This shooting is the product of a Godless society that worships children. In 1966 MOST people did not go to college. College was a place for specific advanced education, not a place where EVERY high school graduate goes to stay immature for another 4 years on Daddy's dime. In 2007 the colleges are stock full of moron's who can't even speak properly, who are spoiled rotten, and who are NOT qualified for higher education. Attending college in 2007 is like attending high school in 1966... almost everyone does it, and is expected to. But the college student of 2007 is FAR more immature, ignorant, socially inept, and emotionally driven than the high school student in 1966. College is about "diversity", and being brainwashed in Industrial myths, historical lies, and social expectations. In 1966, the college students at UT could write in complete sentences, and did not think that the word "like" had to be interspersed in every sentence, every few words. In 1966, a student with a gun was likely to be a valuable person in society, who knew how to use the weapon to defend life, liberty and property. Charles Whitman was a troubled man who happened to have a brain tumor that was pressing on his hypothalamus region of his brain. This tumor likely caused him to be mentally unbalanced, resulting in actions he himself could not explain. This character 'Cho', brainwashed in a culture awash in soap-opera sentimentality, and rampant emotionalism - snapped because his girlfriend broke up with him. He learned it on TV, and in college, and from his generation and culture. Cho loved himself so much, because he was taught to do so by the same types of educators who now reject him. He is the product of their wisdom, and their carnal culture. He is the product of the society they have been trying to build for a century, and he is exactly what this "self-esteem" society will continue to produce.

I heard where the Bushite moron head of Australia claimed that this shooting was the product of the American "gun culture". Readily available guns did not result in this mass shooting. The largest shootings in history have happened in places where guns were banned... in Russia (over 300) and in Tasmania, AUSTRALIA (over 35). The Australians banned guns, and were able to top the body count in Virginia Tech, so the leader of Australia ought to shut his trap and maybe re-arm his citizenry. These massacres happen where people are disarmed, and that is a FACT.

April and Cattle

4/16/07 - 2nd Day - Mid-Morning. A second April cold front went through on Sabbath night and we woke up to 32 degree temps again. We had covered the plants in the garden, so we weren't too worried about losing them. Temps are supposed to be more towards normal for the foreseeable future, though, and we are getting more sun for our solar panels as well. Yesterday was just gorgeous, with temperatures in the 70's and a clear, blue sky.

We had our usual singing and sermon yesterday, which was nice - especially with the gorgeous weather.

The garden is coming along slowly. The hit and miss weather has made it more difficult. We are probably about 2 weeks from taking another pig to the butcher, and I will have to be building a farrowing pen for my pregnant sow sometime in the next 6 weeks or so. We are praying that we will get a healthy, large litter sometime in June.

I was checking on the cattle today. I now have 6 head of cattle. Here is the scorecard:

1. Maria (about 5 years old. 1/2 Watusi, 1/2 Longhorn, VERY long horns)
2. Holga (about 2 years old. Full Longhorn cow)
3. Lucia (about 2 years old. Full Longhorn cow)
4. Pita (Heifer. About 8 months old. 1/4 Watusi, 3/4 Longhorn) We have been training Pita for about 6 months, and she is halter broke and can lead by voice commands).
5. Pedro (Steer. About 7 months old. Full Longhorn steer. Also somewhat trained).
6. Bonita (Heifer. About 4 months old. Full Longhorn.)

Also, Maria, Holga and Lucia should be pregnant. Maria and Holga should be due in July or August. Maria, Holga, Lucia, Pita, and Bonita - should be able to be put with a bull in September of 2007 (DV).

We are also supposed to receive a Jersey heifer in May that we are going to raise as a milk cow (I guess the Old English term is "milch cow"). So, if the Lord allows and all goes well, we might have 10 head of cattle by the end of the year.

Update on the Ranch

4/12/07 - 5th Day - After Breakfast. Well, we have been continuing on with our Ranchfest projects. The fellas got the roof put on the Ante's house yesterday, and today they hope to finish David's field fences. I've been working some in the root cellar, along with doing some writing here and there. We planted our green beans yesterday, and some potatoes as well. The tomatoes and peppers made it through the snow ok, and are doing well. My oat field is doing really well, though there are a lot of weeds coming up too. We also have some corn popping up in the garden. The prognosticators are calling for some rain maybe tomorrow, and some small probabilities early next week.

Some scattershooting... can be found on my FROM THE BUNKER blog.

Virulent Attacks

4/11/07 - 4th Day - After Breakfast. I suppose that of all people, I should expect more of this - but it still doesn't make it easy. Being attacked by worldlings and religious zealots is all part of the job description for what I do. I've been attacked by everyone from nameless Internet terrorists to big name charismatic hucksters. I've been threatened by just about every type and class of professing "christian" that is out there, and even by some folks who don't even pretend to be God's children. I've had the brother of a slain CIA agent threaten me because I called into question the VERY questionable public account of his brother's death; and I have had husbands/sons/daughters/friends, etc., threaten me because their loved one no longer subscribes to the worldly false gospel of industrial free-will Amerikanized churchianity any more. It's all to be expected. This is all right there in the scripture. The Bible says that we must be persecuted and attacked, because evil men and seducers must wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Tim. 3:12-13).

While all types and ages of people are prone to threaten and rail when they are angry or when they feel they have suffered loss, most (but not all) of the most slanderous, wicked, and defamatory attacks come from a certain group... young (20-something) men, knowing nothing, mental and spiritual midgets, ignorant and deceived, who have fashioned themselves as teachers, prophets, even apostles to the unlearned and unwashed masses.

When a young man first comes upon a tiny bit of knowledge, if he is not yet tempered and trained by wisdom and understanding, if he is not guided by an elder or by divine discretion, he soon sees himself NOT in relation to the perfect Word of Life, but in relation and comparison to the ignorant masses around him. He sees that his generation is woefully ignorant of any truth whatsoever, and that they have no knowledge of anything to do with the Bible or with truth. In a few short weeks a man can know mountains more than the blind crowds swirling around him. He realizes that he knows more than just about anyone he knows, therefore it is said that "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king". We've seen it happen a thousand times. So many times a young, enthusiastic man has contacted us about learning from me in the ministry. Whether he travels here to learn in person, or whether he stays away and learns from a distance - very shortly he begins to believe he knows something, and, becoming puffed up, he soon finds that he must attack me (or anyone else) who tries to tell him that he really doesn't know anything at all. It is for this reason that young men in Israel were not allowed to teach until they had reached 30 years of age, and this after having studied from the age of 12 or less. Young Israelite men being prepared for the ministry were to have the Pentateuch memorized by the age of 15, and STILL they were not permitted to teach for another 15 years! Of course, Bible memorization and age are not sufficient to make anyone a good teacher, but the lack of knowledge and the pride of youth are certainly a dangerous mixture, and wise elders sought to mitigate the damage by making it more difficult for these puffed up young know-nothings to deceive others. This is also why the practice of choosing teachers, elders, overseers, etc. in the New Testament Church required that a man chosen for such a position be "not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil" (1Ti 3:6). A novice is:

One who is new in any business; one unacquainted or unskilled; one in the rudiments; a beginner (Webster's 1828 Dictionary)

Now, do not do as these young, puffed up men do - and conclude that I have said that because a man is 30, he is then qualified to teach. Clearly age alone does not qualify a man to teach. This type of fallacious reasoning (basing opinions on logical fallacies) is the same thing that leads these young teachers into such grave error.

You see, when a man is young, he is more likely to be suffering from 2 conditions which generally preclude him from rightly examining information reasonably:

1. He has a wrong view of himself; which usually means that he has a desire for acceptance, reputation, the praise of men, fame, etc. He sees that he knows more than the ignorant masses, so he wrongly concludes that he is special, and that others should see in him what he sees in himself. He does not see his limited knowledge in comparison with the perfect and true Word of God. He sees his knowledge in comparison with those around him, and concludes that he is gifted, special, talented, and worthy of respect and honor. The Apostle James, brother of Christ, said that these men looked into the mirror (the perfect Word of God, and the Royal Law written therein) and walks away, not knowing what manner of man he really is. He has a skewed view of himself. He is not careful with God's Word, but operates mainly out of a sense of "self". He must defend and build "self" and reputation at all cost.

2. He does not have the humility or the experience to place things in their proper perspective and context. He operates mainly on emotion, and cannot dispassionately examine all the information available. His passions override his reason. He cannot calm himself (cool his jets), give something time, study it out, or let something go. Every slight or perceived questioning of his honor, integrity, honesty, knowledge, or perfection must receive maximum retribution. While in this condition, he is a base creature, somewhat of a monster, unreasonable, stumbling into all error and, according to the New Testament, liable to fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Pride was the first sin of the devil, and those who walk his path fall into the same condemnation. The devil, through his pride, rails and attacks the children of God, and sets himself against God's servant ministers.

Let us look at the latest case-in-point.

Andre” (also called “Werner” and several other aliases. He does not offer his real name or any information about himself on his website – a sure sign of cowardice and that he is a deceiver) is a young man who first came to our BiblicalAgrarianism.com website shortly after we first opened in the fall of 2005. Andre was ignorant, unlearned, very difficult to understand (because his English is poor, and because he thinks unclearly). After several public rebukes, Andre (then as “Werner), was kicked off the forum and banned for un-Christian behavior. Andre tried to weasel his way back on the forum using several aliases, that were all exposed – and his entry was blocked. Shortly after that, Andre/Werner sent me several emails attacking me personally and calling me every name in the book. Emotionalism is common in those who operate according to the flesh and not the Spirit. Only a week or so after his attacks, Andre emailed me again begging my forgiveness and asking that I would PLEASE let him back on the forum, because (according to him) I was the only one out there preaching the truth, and he needed to learn. After a brief and light rebuke and warning, I allowed Andre back on the forum, but told him that he was NOT qualified to teach, and that his main purpose on the forum was to learn. Of course it was not long before Andre blew it again. Once again he took any challenge to anything he had to say as a personal attack, and always responded WAY out of proportion to the rebuke. Once again Andre was kicked off the forum, and once again he followed his pattern of personal attack, followed by remorse, apology and the plea to be given yet another opportunity. Each time I accepted his offered apology and let him back on the forum. Each time, in very short order, Andre would blow up on the forum and be kicked off again. This final time was the last straw. Early this year Andre once again wrote me and asked if he could be allowed back on the forum. He claimed that this site was the only one where he could learn. He claimed that he had learned from his youthful errors, and that he recognized his folly, and that he really wanted to sit and read quietly and learn. You should note that at this time “Andre” had started his own teaching website, and that he had always claimed that my book SWARMS OF LOCUSTS was really good and valuable. He had never voiced any concerns at all about the book.

Well, once again I took Andre at his word and let him back onto the forum. Once again, Andre began to try to teach and preach on the forum, and once again he “blew up” and was booted from the site. This time I told Andre that it was the last straw, and that he would never be allowed back on the site.

KABOOM

Here is the latest from “Andre”, the anonymous “man from Germany”:

http://germantelegraph.blogspot.com/2007/04/michael-bunker-preaches-another-christ.html

In his attack piece, “Andre” makes allegations that are patently untrue; he purposely and wickedly claims that I teach and believe things that I do not teach or believe. He takes out-of-context statements from my book (a book he formerly championed) and twists them in order to prove his lies.

IRONY

The main point that “Andre” is trying to make, is that (he says) I deny “imputed justification”. I suppose he means “Justification by imputed righteousness” (it is righteousness that is imputed, so that we might be justified – his terminology betrays his ignorance). Of course, he knows that I teach no such thing. Anyone who has read any of my materials know that the foundation of my whole ministry is the teaching of Justification by the imputed righteousness of Christ.

Andre” takes a specific point I was making concerning the false Papist/Arminian teaching of continued justification through repeated sacrifices on a temporal/physical altar, to claim that I believe exactly what I was disproving in those texts! “Andre's” errors, misstatements, slanders and lies are so numerous in this piece that it would take me weeks to unwind them, and since he is a nobody with no real audience I will decline to do so unless I have to. It is sufficient to point out the foundation of several of “Andre's” errors.

#1 “Andre” falsely assumes (as do the Catholics) that “heaven” is some place up in the clouds, just outside of our view, up in space.

#2 “Andre” falsely assumes that Christ's blood can only be in one “place” in one “time”, despite the fact that a) Christ himself was in more than one place at once (I will show this in a minute), and b) Christ's work was purely temporal and had no spiritual/eternal component.

Let us look at some verses:

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:12-13 KJV)

Now, this verse plainly teaches that Jesus Christ is the Son of Man, and that He had come down from heaven and was then among them speaking to them. Jesus Christ is the Son of Man here. This verse ALSO plainly teaches that as Jesus Christ is speaking these words, He is also in heaven!

If I taught (rightly) that the Bible teaches that the Son of Man was in in heaven at this time, “Andre” would claim that I was teaching that Jesus Christ had not come in the flesh! However, If I claimed that Jesus Christ was NOT in heaven at this time, but was on earth, “Andre” could claim that I was denying the deity and perpetual and unchangeable Godhood of Christ!

You see how easy ignorant deceivers are able to deceive others. They are deceived themselves, so they can easily distract and deceive others.

This has nothing to do with my teaching on Justification, which is clear, orthodox, and widely known. This has to do with “Andre's” shattered pride at being rebuked and chastised as a know-nothing who is unqualified to teach. He twists my words, lies about my meaning, and defames and slanders me for two reasons:

  1. Because he believes it vindicates him. He has been pouring over the tens of thousands of pages of my writings that are available on the Internet and in print with a fine-tooth comb for months trying to find ANYTHING he can use against me.

  2. Knowing that he has been unable to find anything substantial, he fabricates a position he personally knows that I do not hold in order to make his attack. He builds a straw man because if he does not try to hurt me, his rebuke and rejection stands.

Now, this is not a defense of me. My position on Justification by imputed righteousness is well known and documented. This sermon by me:

THE DOCTRINE OF JUSTIFICATION

has been available on the Internet and widely heard for several years – even before young “Andre” ever even heard of the doctrine. I will be posting the full text on BiblicalAgrarianism.com very soon.

Ok, so the attacks have not stopped there. One of "Andre's" friends, another man from the forum who was recently rebuked by one of our elders for his behavior, had his wife call one of our friends and supporters to allege (or imply) that we had stolen or embezzled money that was intended for her. When the wife was informed that not only was this NOT true, but that she had received money from me in excess of what she could have possibly expected or hoped, the wife apologized to the women (but not to me of course) and tried to act like it was not part of a very concerted and organized effort to slander me and try to bring me down.

This stuff happens all the time. If Jesus was crucified by His enemies, and if Paul had assassins, dagger-men, and professional slanderers who made it their duty to try to end his ministry, we can expect that those of us who are far less than them should expect like treatment. Are we surprised? No.

The purpose of this blog entry is to, once again, warn people against the devices of the enemy; to strengthen the brethren in trials and persecutions, to caution young men against falling into the snare of the devil; and to glorify God for His strength and power in causing us to persevere against such evil attacks.

Just another day at the office.

Rudiments, Comments, and whatnot...

4/09/07 - 2nd Day - After Breakfast. The cold front should be passed and the prognosticators are expecting the temps to get up into the 60's today. It's still quite muddy around here, but should dry up pretty fast. A successful Spring Ranchfest is now past, and we look forward to doing some gardening and getting the place ready for summer.

We video recorded the "Rudiments of the World" sermon yesterday. It was our first video shot here since we've been on the land. That sermon, along with the 3 others in the Ranchfest series, is now available for your request by mail. For those who would like to receive it, we are including the 3 prior audio sermons on CD, the Rudiments sermon on DVD, the printed versions of the notes for the sermons, and maybe (if it works out) a DVD copy of the childrens Passover play. Please send $50 to:

Ok, the "pin map" to your right is being highly utilized, and we have had a bunch of people put pins on the map... but you really should at least put your first name and a pic if you have one. That would make the map more interesting. You should be able to edit your pin, so why not do it?

Also, I had a great question from a friend yesterday. Since there are obviously a ton of visitors (regular and otherwise) to this blog - how come almost nobody ever comments? My answer...

"Well, they must be afraid I am going to track them down and burn down their house"

That was in jest of course. I would love to read and post comments, but if there is one thing our ministry has proven through time - it is that you can have a huge audience of quiet folks who never participate. Strange, because I know some people who have virtually no audience at all (maybe 5 or 6 people) who get comments from each one of them on every post. Unhappily, some people believe that a loud and boisterous audience means a large audience. Not true at all. Anyway, just commenting... leave your comments on each blog entry and this page will be a lot more interesting.

(***NOTE TO CATHOLIC blog spam terrorists... I don't read or post your regular attacks, so spare me. You won't hear from me until your Pope lets you start burning us again***)

Thanks,

Michael Bunker

April snow, brings May.... ?

4/08/07 - Lord's Day - After Breakfast. The strange April cold snap that has pretty much hit all of Amerika also struck here in Texas. It started snowing yesterday and we had about 1 1/2 inches of snow total. Right now it is hovering around freezing and the ground is muddy from the snow melt. Here are some pics:

And another...

Ranchfest, Singing, and Orange Beer...

4/04/07 - 4th Day - After Breakfast.

Yesterday it was quite warm, but the tide has changed. Woke up with it cool and breezy this morning, and they are calling for temps in the low 60's with lows in the low 40's over the next 5 days.

The pic above is from the Ranchfest sermon from 2nd day evening. The weather was ideal so we have been having the meetings out under our large oak tree.

Yesterday we worked on the Ante's roof. The fellas have been putting up rafters, while Logan has had David and I pulling nails out of old boards and ripping them into usable boards.

Last night we had our Passover Seder over at the Ante's and a great "boiled supper" of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, fruit salad and stuffed Jalapeños. Then we all went back to our cabin and we had a fire and we sat out on the porch and sang ridiculously poorly accompaniment to the strumming of guitars. I am sure there are legalists out there who are wetting themselves right now because we were singing and using guitars... get over it. I usually put things like that in there to weed out the wacknuts. Here is another one...

A pic of me on St. Catholics (Patricks) Day wearing orange and drinking orange beer in support of our Protestant brethren in Ireland.

There, that should get rid of some more folks.

Ranchfest...

4/03/07 - 3rd Day - After Dinner. Ranchfest is in full swing. We didn't get the participation we would have liked, since so many people had to cancel at the last minute because of circumstances - but there are so many people living here in the community now that it has still been quite fun. We had a sermon and Q&A on the Lord's Day evening, and then another sermon last night.

Our two projects right now are to build some long cross fences for Elder David, and we are helping Mr. Ante put a roof on his house.

There are two new sermons up at BiblicalAgrarianism.com:

Noncomformity and Q&A

How to Study the Bible: Notes on Luke 12

and I should be posting two newer sermons (Fools and Transgressors, and Reason is not for Rebles) as soon as I can get my FTP program to upload them.

Drenching

4/02/07 - 2nd Day - After Breakfast.

We received over 4 1/4 inches of rain last week, half of it coming in just a few hours on the 5th day. It rained so hard at one point that we caught 5 gallons of water out of just our front catchwater spout in 21 seconds. As you can see from the picture, our pond overflowed and the dam we built last summer was breached a bit. In the pic you can see the pond spilling over the dam into the creek.

Here is a picture of the creek overflowing its banks. This is from the "outflow" of the pond, towards the east. This creek flows into our neighbors lake.

Here is a pic of Josie's creek, with her unfinished cabin in the background.

Here is another pic of the creek flowing under the bridge across it we built for Josie.

Here is the creek as it heads across my property.

We now have over 2200 gallons in our catchwater system (it holds 2500), which is more than 1000 gallons more than we have ever had in it. This should give us a really good start to the year, and we are very grateful for it.

If you are waiting on details and updates on Ranchfest, I should be posting an update this afternoon on BiblicalAgrarianism.com so stay tuned.

Your servant in Christ Jesus,

Michael Bunker
