On Hold

8/14/08 - 5th Day - After Breakfast. Yesterday was our monthly community work day (First Wednesday). I know it was the second wednesday of the month, but the first first wednesday got cancelled because of almost no rain.

I'm taking a "kind of" break here from the blog for awhile. First I'll give you the reasons, then I'll tell you what I mean by "kind of".

As most of you know, I do my work in a 12 x 16 cabin that doesn't have a chair. I do my work, then, laying on my back (horrible for me) or sitting up (bad for me) on the bed. My office is unfinished and has been since we started it last October ('07). That is manageable though, but for the last several months (actually going back for much of this spring and summer, I have been having to borrow a computer in order to do my ministry work. I then steal some ministry work time (primarily answering emails, counseling, writing sermons, etc.) to update the blog. My computer is about 90% shot, but will work sometimes when the power cord works. The power cord is now completely shot, which wipes out the final 10% for me. This week I have come to realize that my entire ministry has become dependent on others (primarily the women in our group here who graciously let me borrow their computer in order to work), and I don't think that is the way it should be. Nor do I feel it is biblical for the ministry of the gospel to be dependent on women.

Ok, so I am putting the ministry on hold. I figure God was patient and waiting me to figure this out, and apparently I finally got the message. If God wants me to continue (and I am not saying He does at all... I have always said that God doesn't need me, nor is it necessary that I continue to do this), I will do it when I have the resources to do it properly.

As for blogging, it is a pleasure and is very cathartic for me to blog about our lives and experiences. I will get back to it in time. For awhile, though, or for as long as I am borrowing a computer to check email, etc., I will be posting some older things that I have written that perhaps you have never read.

------------------------------------

Ok, so this blog post was about 3 times as long and included a past post, but I had to truncate it and try to send it out like this because my internet is sooooo slow and won't work most of the time I am on it. We called out the ip people the other day and they gave me a bunch of technical gobbledygood, and still my internet is slower than dialup.

Later y'all,

M
