Just a touch of rain...
Well, we did receive a touch of rain last night. The first in a long, long time. We are grateful for it, and we pray for more. The plan is for me to leave on my northern trip in the morning. Two of the brothers here (Chris and Joseph) have graciously agreed to accompany and assist me. Money is going to be much tighter than I had originally thought, so y'all be in prayer that God will make appropriate provision for this trip. The problem is that things must continue here at the ranch while I'm away, and usually the donations that come in for a trip like this are actually (or close to) the normal donations we would receive anyway, so in effect we end these trips in a great big hole. I pray that that is not the case this time.
Things are going along well here, considering the drought. We have graciously been spared any major problems - such as fires, etc. The ponds are drying out and we are having to travel to town to get water, because we have still been unable to complete the catchwater on the office... AND, we haven't any rain to catch.
The Gospel changes you... Here is an interesting visual for you. A picture of my wife Danielle and me back when we got engaged:
Here is us in 2005...
Now, I think we can agree that the Agrarian separatist life changes you a bit. Especially when you are awakened at 5 a.m. by a 4 foot rattlesnake eating your rabbits... which almost never happened back when that first picture was taken.

Wow, Michael, you guys look like you could have shepherded a feel-good, megachurch back then. LOL.
Be safe on your trip. I'll be praying.

LOL, was thinking the same Judy. Praise God for the changes that the REAL Gospel makes in us.
