Heading Up North

6/16/08 - 2nd Day - Late Afternoon. Ok, Here is the deal on my trip. A good friend of mine who lives in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is really sick. He's been sick for some time, but he has gotten worse and I need to get up there to see him and minister to him if possible. This is a friend who was with us when we made the move here from West Texas. He helped me build this cabin, and he went through the first really hot summer with me - even when we didn't have an outhouse, any water, or any way to cool off when it was 104 degrees. He returned to PA to get married, and not too long after that he was diagnosed with cancer.

As of right now I am planning on leaving here on Thursday morning the 19th. I may or may not have one or two of the men here from the ranch with me. My plan is to drive through Dallas, Texarkana, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, and Western Virginia (I 81) all the way up to the Gettysburg area of Pennsylvania. Our trip back will be wide open, and if anyone wants to plan for a visit or a get-together, meeting, sermon, etc., let me know what you have in mind and I'll see what I can do.

I hope to be up to Pennsylvania sometime on the Sabbath, but we'll see. My days of driving around the clock are way behind me. I do hope to take pictures and to keep my blog updated on the trip, so y'all can all go with me.
