Growing Up Agrarian

We are four Christian, homechurched, homeschooled, homesteading, agrarian children growing up in Central Texas on a Ranch. We are Tracy,(15) Jennifer,(10) Robert,(9) and Sarah(5) Bunker. We also have one more brother, Thomas Shepard Bunker, who is in the courts of glory. We like to read books, raise animals, and play on the land. Tracy will be writing about the stuff we do. We hope you enjoy our Adventures!

BUNNIES!

Hello

Yesterday Tracy's doe, Claira had a litter of 3 or 4 bunnies. And only one dead this morning! What a blessing! This is the first litter on the land to survive one night. They are small and pink with little tiny ears and paws with claws like little white needles. They are 100% Californian meat breed.

We sang this morning. We know how to sing seven of the Psalms. We will learn a 8th one next week, Lord willing. We love to sing! Next week, Lord willing, we will have fellowship at the Ante's home.

The Gurau family will be purchasing some 20 or so chicks from a feed store this week, Lord willing. They are hoping to also buy a female rabbit and barter to breed her with San Diego, Tracy's buck. The already have 3 goats, and their names are: Daisy, Cocoa, and George, who is spending some time with Helen Keller.

The Siffords bought 2 new goats, one is a Nubian billy, and one is a Nubian\ Alpine nanny. They have not named the nanny, but they are considering naming the billy Shatnner. Winnie the LaMancha now has 2 new friends.

Sometime today we will take Tracy's volleyball net over to the Irby's house to set up in their yard. That will be fun.

Well, over and out!

Goin' Visting

Hello again,

Today Tracy went over to our feiends, the Shamburger's, house to sew with their girls, who are: Emily, age 19, Abigail, age 16, and Allison, age 15. Mrs. Ante went as well and cut out a pattern for a new flannel jumper she is making. Tracy and Allison made greeting cards and looked at Emily's squares for a new quilt. It was fun.

Then all of us Bunker children went next door to the Irby's house to play volleyball with the Irby children, who are: Jordan, age 17 and Trevor, age 15. We had a lot of fun and Trevor's team won. We decided that tomorrow or Sunday we will put up Tracy's new volleyball net that she got as a gift from Mrs. Sifford's parents. But scince tommorow will be filled with Sabbath preperations, it will probably wait until Sunday after Singing.

Tracy's rabbits still have not kindled, but we are still holding up hope.

Well, Have a good nightt!

Cold Weather

Hello

The men of the land are coming home from a three-day cold weather survival camping trip today. We are excited to see how it went, and count and make sure everyone has all ten toes. We hope they bring home a pig or some other meat to butcher.

We have been canning and making broth lately, and it is going well.

Helen Keller is hopefully pregnant, and will, Lord Willin', have a kid or kids this spring. She is pregnant via George, the Gurau's billy goat.

The Sustaire's female cat, Meowbark, had two kittens via Rocky, Jennifer's male cat. We named the female kitten (who looks like exactly like her father, Rocky) Lil' Marie. The other one is mostly white with a few light brown and gray spots, and has no name.

Well, we have a camper to clean and dishes to do.

A game of dreidel, anyone?

Hello

Chilly and muddy, 37 degrees outside, but we are warm and cosy in the camper. We are doing more English, playing Butterfly Bingo and drinking cocoa in between chore times.

We just got done celebrating Hanukkah. Last night was the last night. We played the dreidel game and read in the Biblical holidays book.

Well, dishes are waiting and then it is bedtime!

School Days

Hello

It has been chilly here lately but we have been keeping warm in the camper with lanterns and candles. We have lots of blankets as well.

Tracy's rabbits are pregnant again, and may kindle around December 25th. They keep warm in their hay filled nest boxes when it's nippy outside.

We have been doing lots of English while it is cold outside. We use Rod and Staff English courses. Tracy is in 8th grade and Robert and Jennifer are in 4th grade. Sarah is learning her alphabet.

Dad is working on his double dug garden for this spring. It is looking pretty nice and is coming right along.

Well, more later!
