Growing Up Agrarian

We are four Christian, homechurched, homeschooled, homesteading, agrarian children growing up in Central Texas on a Ranch. We are Tracy,(15) Jennifer,(10) Robert,(9) and Sarah(5) Bunker. We also have one more brother, Thomas Shepard Bunker, who is in the courts of glory. We like to read books, raise animals, and play on the land. Tracy will be writing about the stuff we do. We hope you enjoy our Adventures!

Icy Cold Day

Hello again! This morning (Sabbath) Jennifer and Tracy went to the H&H Diner with Daddy for breakfast. Jennifer had two pancakes with butter and syrup and Tracy had French toast with powdered sugar, syrup and ham. Robert and Sarah had Malt-O-Meal and bacon at home with Mommy.

It is VERY cold here and everything has ice on it. Daddy said it was 29 degrees when he woke up. Jennifer slipped off the step to the motorhome twice because it was iced over. We spent a lot of the time today in the root cellar where it is 52 degrees. It was so cozy.

We are looking forward to seeing our Grandma and Aunt Tracy who are coming down to see us this weekend. Our Aunt has 4 dogs she sometimes brings and we love to play with them.

The Sustaires got a pretty new cat (or so we hear, we have not even seen it yet) who is Trogdore's sister. They got it from their mom in Fort Worth. It is pretty wild.

We hope to post pictures of us on our new bikes and with our new neighbors, the Ante Children. We made a cool ramp for our bikes (which went through a 1 point inspection by our dad and Mihai.).

Our cats are not enjoying this cold weather. Especially the great hunter Belle, who is not as great with this weather. Rocky thinks it is great because he can sleep all day in the motorhome. He is not the most active cat. Samuel does not really care as long as no humans are touching him and he can do his own thing without iterruption.

Mr. Woods caught a bunny in his outhouse hole (which has not been used yet, mind you) and he buttered and roasted it over an open fire. Yum!

Well, have a nice day and God Bless!!

Sleepy Heads

Hello again!

Yesterday, Mr. Homer (our neighbor) brought us all new bikes!! We had a blast all day yesterday and today. We even made a jump! We will post pictures soon, Lord willing.

We all have a cold right now. Jennifer, Robert and Sarah should break out with chicken pox here pretty soon (Tracy had it when she was 2). It is not slowing us down! Jennifer and Robert are, Lord willing, going to finish 3rd grade tomorrow. We are going out to eat at the Snack Shack in Bangs for a "graduation" treat.

Our Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner tonight. Jennifer cooked macaroni and cheese for us. Tracy and Robert did the dishes. We all read afterwards and Jennifer, Robert, and Sarah went to sleep. Zzzzzzz! We were all very tired.

Yesterday, we all (except Sarah) went to visit the Ante family's land and helped their children pick up cow poop for their compost. We found a deer antler!!

Well, got to get up early in the morning!

New Friends

Hello again! Today we had a delicious breakfast of breakfast chili (eggs, sausage, beans,
and chopped chilies) and tortillas. After breakfast we did our chores and our lessons.

Our new friends, the Ante children, just moved down to the Ranch. We have had fun playing with them. They are: Noah(7), Seth(4), and little Job(2). They are staying on our land for a little while, and then they will move to their land. They have a dog named Taz who likes to chase our cats and Helen. He never gets them, but he has fun trying.

Our other friends the Sustaires are also moving to the Ranch. They do not have children, but they have a pretty orange cat named Trogdore.

The weather has been getting colder here. It was a chilly 22 degrees here this morning. Brrrrr. Time to break out the hot cocoa! But we kept warm and cosy with olive oil candles and oil lanterns. We also had our pretty fleece blankets that Mrs. Ante made us. Robert got a blanket with cowboy boots on it, Jenny got one with a brother and a sister looking in to the sunset, Tracy got one with paisley, flowers, hearts, and every color you can imagine on it, and Sarah got one with Raggedy Ann and Andy on it.

We think Sarah might have chicken pox. She was comlaining of a sore throat and was running a low grade fever last night, and she slept most of the morning today, so she might show up with some spots in 2 weeks.

Well, until next time,
The Bunker Chillins
