Cheese and Stuff...
12/29/06 - 6th Day - Preparation of the Sabbath - Midday. The prognosticators had predicted all sorts of rain for us, but we have received only a trace. That is good I suppose, since the Ante's are moving down tonight and we really don't need a bunch of mud around. We could get more rain tonight, but after that it is expected to clear up. We are expecting the Ante's at about 8pm or later.
Today we made cheese and butter. You have to give it to God. He really outdid Himself with cows. I mean... you can eat them, and you can get milk from them, and their poop is good manure for your crops. The milk can be skimmed for butter, then you can make cheese from the milk, then you can make ricotta from the whey, and you can take whatever is left and feed it to your chickens or pigs! I never cease to be amazed. So today we made butter from the cream and we are making some cheese. Now that we have the root cellar semi-enclosed, we can start storing some cheeses down there to age. I look forward to canning some meat, butter and other things to start filling the root cellar as well.
Too much to do to prepare for the Sabbath... I have to run.
God Bless,
Michael Bunker
